KOI extracts knowledge about incidents from news articles and answers questions like "Which killing incident happened in 2014 that involve the name Kevin Richardson?" and "How many killing incidents happened in June 2014 in the state of Florida?". Developed by Paramita Mirza, Fariz Darari, and Rahmad Mahendra, KOI achieved competitive results despite its unsupervised approach, for SemEval 2018 Task 5: Counting Events and Participants in the Long Tail.
